Happy Birthday Bauer!

Bauer's birthday was filled with fun, friends, and family-- what more could you ask for on your 1st birthday?

Took a little video when i went to get Bauer in the morning-- I need to not talk next time. I'm loving Bauer's grandpa laugh right now-- it's so funny.


I finally got my banner done and love it-- it was pretty easy and super fun to do! Now it's a family birthday tradition!

Dear Bauer,
You are 1 year old today and I seriously can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was cuddling your little body in the hospital. It seems like just yesterday was I sure I was going to break you, rip out one of your tubes on accident, or do something that the nurses would yell at me for. It seems like just yesterday I was telling myself, "if he'd just come home, he'd get better." It seems like just yesterday I was packing up an oxygen machine and a heart monitor just to go on a walk outside. Wow how time flies and how much has changed.
You are a joy in every way-- you are such a great baby, you have so much personality, and everyone just loves you. You're crawling all over the place and getting into everything-- i love to watch you figure out how to climb up the slide, figure out how to work your toys, and figure out how to get into trouble! Your dad and I are in awe of you everyday. You make us better people. You can light up a room with those eyes and that one-of-a-kind smile.
I'm sure it's annoying how much i hug you and kiss you-- actually I know you think it's annoying because often times you push my face away! haha, but I hope you know and can feel how much I love you. You are my miracle, you are the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. I'm so grateful for you health and strength. I'm so grateful for your sillyness and your ability to make me cry from laughing at you so hard. I'm grateful for the person you're helping me become. I can't wait for the years the lie ahead for us- the fun to be had, the lessons to be learned, and the laughter to share.

We just got back a couple days ago from a fun trip to Black Butte for the Sister's Rodeo. Let me tell you, it never disappoints! Although this year was MUCH different for me as I missed ALL the bull riding playing with Bauer in the shady grass behind the bleechers... he obviously doesn't quite understand how important that rodeo is to mommy! haha. Good thing he's cute huh??
We stayed a couple extra days with my sister in law and her adorable kids while the boys played in a golf tournament. We swam and went on walks and bike rides, and mostly just visited while the kids played which was so fun! I love any time I get to spend with Erin!

Tuesday afternoon we headed straight to Kennewick Washington for my Grandmothers funeral. It was a perfect service and a great tribute to an amazing woman. I'm soo grateful for my time with her, especially these last few weeks I was able to spend helping and serving her and being by her side. I was able to see her just a couple hours before she passed and was comforted to know that she was ready and wanted to go, that she wasn't in pain, and that I will see her again.

On another note, Andrew and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary this past Tuesday. We both had to laugh while we drove to Kennewick and Bauer screamed for the first 2 hours. It was a great commentary on how different life is now! But we wouldn't change it for the world. We're going to the Lion King at the Keller tonight and we both can't wait! I sure love Andrew and am excited for what our future holds.

11 months!!

I can't believe that my little man is growing up so fast! I remember thinking it was going to be forever before he could crawl around and get into things...WRONG! He's a blast and I love watching him experience his world.

-He loves walking around anything he can hold on to.
-He loves playing rough-- the higher you toss him or the louder you are, the more fun he has.
-He only nurses in the morning then takes whole milk from the sippy cup the rest of the day
-He loves to feed himself and would eat Honeycombs all day if we would let him!
-He's still a bit of a momma's boy, but he sure loves playing rough with his daddy.
-He loves to be outside and his friend Davis' little power wheels bike may be his new favorite.
-He loves to be just be in his diaper and hates getting dressed
-He shows noooo sign of being negatively affected by his difficult start which makes his mommy and daddy feel very happy and grateful.
-He brings us more joy and happiness we could ever imagine. We love our little family and couldn't be more excited that we know we can be together forever!
